Message from Pepe Pez, President of the Garra Rufa Fish Union at AquaBliss Fish Spa:
In my position as the President of the Garra Rufa Fish Union (GRFU) at AquaBliss Fish Spa in Barcelona, I am proud to announce that me and my fellow fish are in full support of the general strike taking place today, 14th of November, 2012.
I would like to say that we in the GRFU are happy fish – we have lovely houses and no banks chasing us for payments, we never go short of food, we have jobs that we love, and we are lucky that if any of us falls ill we don’t have to pay anything towards our medical treatment.
However, from our daily contact with the people of Barcelona, we are increasingly concerned by the difficult situation that they are going through. It is extremely worrying that they are losing the basic rights that us in the GRFU at AquaBliss currently enjoy. People, just like us fish, deserve the right to housing, work, food and health.
Please join on us in the strike today and let us swim together in the the hope of building a better future.
